I want to configure settings on a client but I get the message

Where and how do I unlock this so I can change settings?

    Kind regards

You have to make changes in the SEPM to be able to make the chnages.

Please post a  screen shot of the error you are getting so that we can guide you where you need to make the chnage in SEPM

Since this is a Managed client it is controlled from the SEPM console. The person who can log in to the SEPM console can do the necessary changes for you by editing the required policies and then assigning them to the group of clients your machine belongs to.

You can chnage the control in SEPM to  Client Control

    Follow the below steps:

Logon to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console

    Browse to Clients

    Select the Group

    Click Policies

    Expand Location-specific Settings

Click on Tasks to the right of Client User Interface Control Settings

    Click on Edit Settings

Click on Customize to the right of Client  Control ( and select the options accordingly )

    Click OK

Click OK to save changes to the location specific settings policy

Is the "Change settings" only available when the user is Administrator? I have "Mixed Control" and I put all settings under the "Client User Interface Control Settings" to Client side and still all three protections have "Change settings" disabled. They are only availeble when user with admin rights log in.
