  • 1.  What to do after purchasing 12-month subscription renewal

    Posted Jul 16, 2009 12:51 PM

We noticed (based on the original invoice) that our subscription had expired.  Interesting thing is that we still are receiving latest definitions via live update.

We have purchased a 12-month renewal, but I do not know what to do next.  I could not find anywhere in the SEP Management Console where I could manage/update licenses...

    Please help!

Don't worry! SEPM is unlicensed. The license is just a piece of paper.
You don't have to do nothing, the product never expires, it will continue to work without restrictions.
    We trust you.

Endpoint Protection is what is called "unserialized"

It is required to renew the support contract to remain within license compliance in terms of the download of the virus definitions, however, there is no intervention required with the software

It will continue to download virus definitions.

The information contained the certificate for your renewal will be important if you ever need to call into technical support as they require a current support contract for support.

You can get virusdefinitions without paying the fee but you will not get any new software upgrades.

This means that if you do not pay you fee for a very long period (say couple of years) also the virusdefinitions might no longer work since an old version usually gets unsupported after such a long time.
