File Share Encryption

I have a Dell Precision Workstation T7500 with TPM.  After upgrading to PGP WDE 10.2 MP3 it will not work with my TPM.  In fact, WDE has NEVER worked with my TPM on the T7500.  However, when I had a Workstation 390 it did work with the TPM, and that was like version 9 or thereabouts (nearly 2 yrs ago).

So why won't WDE work with my T7500 even though it worked two years ago with a much older model??

What can i do to fix this?

To be 100% honest, development effort of WDE working with TPM is very lacking. This is an area that doesn't really get a lot of attention and focus right now and hasn't for some time. TPM, as a design, is fundementally broken in some ways.

How is TPM broken?

And if the product worked before with my TPM on that older machine, why wouldn't it work now?  It is still TMP 1.2.

I was told in a previous thread by Tom that TPM would be working soon.

We are in the process of validating many different TPM implementations.We are interested in your test results on any additional TPM systems.

Sorry, not to be a source of contention. But the same comments can be found in our PGP Desktop 9.8 release notes (on page 11) from four years ago.

My best advice to you at this point, would be to create a suggestion. In the suggestion I would make it a point to include the information on what hardware you are testing with, etc.

No, it's cool, Ben.  I want to be able to help improve this product.  So how to I make a 'suggestion'?

I just do not understand why the PGP won't work with my TPM in this new computer, but it did with my old one.  Aren't TPMs all the same?  If they are version 1.2, what difference does it make on which system it is on.

Also, I figured if Windows Bit Locker can work with TPM on every model of computer, why can't PGP?
