We are running a test deployment of the SEP 11 product.  The first problem that I have noticed is the location that gets used for stoage for the VIrus Definitions.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\

Can this be changed so that the Virus Definitions will be saved on a D:\ drive?

    Thanx

No you cannot change this location and neither can you change

    <root>:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application data\Symantec

both the locations are hard coded to application

The only thing you can change is the location of the Program Files folder to D:\.  Unfortunately this piece of the applications accounts for very little of the space that the applications takes up.

The other location AV/SEP eats a ton of space is c:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Symantec.

This really is a mega pain for things like servers. Workstations I don't really care that much about since they have 120 gig hard drives of which is entirely C: drive. When you have servers that are based off virtual templates that only have 15 or 40 gigs for the OS, thats another story...

Liveupdate is designed in such a way that it goes to the C drive , you cannot move this to a  diffrent drive.
Not only symantec If you have any other software installed and that downloads defntion or upadtes on a daily basis will be on the C Drive.

If you need this directory to be somewhere else I would suggest using LiveUpdate Administrator, you can customize the download directory as well as many other options.
