  • 1.  VIP Access Desktop 2.1.1

    Please may i have some guidance with the following error when trying to activate VIP Access. 

    activation could not be completed. sign in again later to activate VIP Access. Error Code : 0x30

     

    Only window 7 pro are causing this issue. all workststions on a domain, all Windows XP workstations do not have this issue.

    Any update on this error condition? I too have a workstation with Windows 7 Professional (x86) and VIP Access Desktop 2.1.1 installed that is receiving this error. The latest information I've gathered from the workstation comes from two files:

    Removal of "Intel Management Engine Components"—per vip_support@symantec.com—resolved the issue for me. No reinstall of VIP Access Desktop was necessary, either.

    16/11/13 I'm also having this issue with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit -

    'Activation could not be completed. Sign in again later to activate VIP Access. Error Code : 0x30'

    Is there no response from Symantec on how to troubleshoot this issue yet?

    Hi, 

    I've heard back from the product team on this issue and they've provided the following background information..

     

    This error is due to an incompatibility with Intel Management Engine Components.  It is normally specific to Win 7, Service Pack 1.  Removing the component and rebooting the system is known to fix the problem.

    o   Work-around:

    - I confirmed that it was due to incompatibility with Intel Management Engine components 1.x and 8.x

    - You can uninstall this software (at the customer’s own risk) and send a version number of this software and logs to Symantec Support.

    -  Control Panel --> Uninstall  -->  Intel Management Engine components  -->  Reboot  -->  VIP Access activation works
