  • 1.  Using Ghost Console to Ghost an SSD

    Hi,

I have Ghost 11.5 and I am trying to use the ghost console to ghost an image of an "external" SSD. An OS and drivers are already installed on the SSD, so I want to create an image of the drive and save it to my Main computer (that has Ghost installed on it). I want to ghost the image within windows. I've tried a few things and nothing seemed to work out. Any tips? I really need to figure this out soon.... Thanks!

How is the SSD connected to your machine?

What operating system are you running?

What have you tried?  What precisely has happened?

I presume the SSD is not actually running but is a "slave" on your system as you describe it as "external". Can you XCOPY files from it, to your local system?

The first time I tried to image from and to an SSD, I received an error "27100 - Image file contains corrupt data run."

At the following link I found the suggestion to use the -ntc- switch when pulling and pushing the image.

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/d87bb6ce0bde286d88256d6a00452701/69fd667637afde1b8825670c00584bdf?OpenDocument

Using the -ntc- resolved the issue and the image now clones successfully.
