    Posted Dec 16, 2013 01:34 AM

    Dear All

I am trying to upgrade my Symantec, and i have went to the website and downloaded all the file :

    1- Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN

    2- Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4_Part2_Tools_EN

    3- Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4_SEPM_EN

    4- Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4_Win32-bit_Client_EN

    5- Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4_Win64-bit_Client_EN

    6- Symantec_Endpoint_Recovery_Tool_2.0.24_AllWin_EN

    7- SymantecInstallationManagerSetup

Now every time i try to run the SymantecInstallationManagerSetup its installing and at the end it will show me : The product Listing Located at http:www.solutionsam.com/solutions/pl/symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip could not be accessed - try again or choose a different product listing,

I read this article:  http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH159352 but no use, every thing is in place already, i try again, but the same, should i download something other than this file first before installing SymantecInstallationManagerSetup, and if yes please show me the steps if i am at the right track please give me a selution for this to upgrade.

    Thanks

the packages you downloaded are for SEP. The article is referring to SMP.

    what are you actually upgrading?

As per your sepm version (12.1.1101.401) you are using Enterprise Editions. You can't downgrade SBE editiion .

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and Symantec Endpoint Protection Windows client versions do not support the following downgrade paths:
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x to 12.1.4 Small Business Edition
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.x (enterprise version) to 12.1.4 Small Business Edition

    You can download EE version

can you try repairing the SEPM using add/remove program?

if it does not resolve, can you run upgrade.bat

Upgrade.bat file will be present at C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin

pete, its working fine now thank God and thank you, but want to ask you is this error will affect the symantec in any way or in future ? and if yes because its not suppose to be like that, i read your link above and it say go to regedit and remove the file and back up before, but can you guide me to which file exactly i should go for example :  HKEY - Local and then where .

    Thanks

it should not impact SEP , you can search the values in the registry and delete one of them :-)
