    1) check this link to migrate to SEPM 12.1 RU1

    2) Once upgraded, follow the DR steps and then move to another machine.

    Hi,

I would suggest upgrade existing SEPM & SEP clients from RU4 to SEP 12.1 RU1.

After successful upgrade move your SEPM to another server by following disaster recovery.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH160736

Check following article to know how upgrade process works.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/sep-11x-sep-121-upgrade-process-graphical-overview

    You can download also.

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/sep-11x-sep-121-upgrade-process-graphical-overview

There are couple of options available to move SEPM from one server to another server.

For more details check this thread

Note : Replication is an option, but its better not to go for that. Because if you do replication and remove the old server that is the Primary SEPM, in future if you want to do replication you will not be able to do so.

I hope this information will help you to decide next course of action !!!

    Hi all,

    Thanks for reply.

    I have one problem.

My server don't have space to install new version.

    I try to do is,

    1) Install new 12.1 RU1 SEPM server in new server.

    2) All the clients(version 11.4) talk with new 12.1 RU1 SEPM server

    3) Upgrade clients to 12.1

It can be done or not? Any setting or configuration needed?

    Hi,

Minimum 5 to 8 GB free space is required while doing upgrade.

I would suggest try to make some free space on drive,

Check which SEPM folders is causing maximum disk space.

    Hi,

Our SEPM 11.4 server is install in c:\ and only left 1 GB. We already clean all temp and other but only can get up to 1GB.

Can we just install SEPM 12.1 in new server and control all the clients?

You can install SEPM on a new server. Then you should deploy sylink.xml on all clients to let them know what is the new Manager:

    Hello,

    I agree with W-d above.

You can Download the SylinkReplacer Utility for SEP 11.x from:

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/downloads/sylinkreplacer-tool-connecting-sep-clients-sepm

    OR

Incase, if you can get a new server with the same IP and hostname on the network, then you could do a disaster recovery for the SEPM.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102333

    Hope that helps!!
