    I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.2 (build 1672).  Now whenver I try to do anything management wise on the box it kicks me back out to the logon screen.  I can look at looks and navigate around, so long as I don't try to look at users or policies, etc.  Then I have to log back on every time.

    The admin logs show this after the update (not sure if it's related):

    validation error loading ovidprefs file /etc/ovid/prefs.xml : email-from-address is a required field. Trying to load without validation.

    The update log said this:

    Successfully installed update PGP Universal 3.2.0 (Build 1672)

    thanks!

    try rebooting the server

    if does not work, edit your pref.xml , this part should be like this:

    <notification-method>
                <type>email</type>
                <enabled>false</enabled>
                <event>daily-stats</event>
                <email></email>
            </notification-method>

    I've found the same problem when using the web console with IE9.

    Try using IE8 or Firefox/Chrome etc...

    ... I had the same issue using Firefox Portable 3.6.15. IE8 works fine.

    And in order to get rid of the error message

    "validation error loading ovidprefs file /etc/ovid/prefs.xml : email-from-address is a required field. Trying to load without validation."

    (which occurred every few seconds in the Administraion log, by the way)

    I entered an email address inside the Boomerang tag. See http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH165598

    Good luck to all of you, companions in misfortune (=PGP admins ;) !
