  • 1.  Touchdown for IOS features?

    Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing this app, but the documentation is really lacking and making the decision hard to make.

First of all, the link for the Knowledge Base of your website is broken:

http://www.symantec.com/page.jsp?id=touchdown and then click on Knowledge Base under Product Support

    https://support.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=productlanding&key=63745

There are some features that I'd like to know if they exist:

    1. Convert email to Outlook Task
    2. Assign Categories to emails (Outlook Categories)
    3. Support for conversation view

It would also be great to have a $0 cost trial, so customers could try the app out first rather than parting with a sizeable amount of cash up front.

    Kind regards

    Jason Cheeseman

This post has been up for nearly a week now. Is there no-one inside Symantec who knows what is actually in their own products? If this is so hard, I wonder what suppport is like? I shall be recommending this to my company who has 15,000 staff worldwide!!

    Hi Jason,

If you would like to try out the free version of TD, sign up for a Mobility tenant here.  It will give you a 30 day trail for Work Mail (Symantec Branded Touchdown).  Let me know if you need any assistance getting the tenant setup I would be happy to help.

For configuring Work Mail, see the Work Mail section of my A to Z doc; I can also help with this part.

    Regards,

TouchDown has the ability to convert emails to tasks. How it is done depends on the platform. On android currently you can right click on an email and select make task option. On iOS, you have to open the email then select the Mark option and pick the Task action.

You can assign categories to emails, but this is supported only if you are connecting to an Exchange 2010 server.

Conversation views are available on both platforms. Conversation view in iOS behaves more like how the native client there works, and on Android, it is a more consolidated (tree like)  view currently.
