When you create the package, under Client Install Settings, check the radio button for "Install to a custom installation folder"

"Thumbs Up" to Ashish's post above.  Those articles should help you install SEP to a different drive.

Just covering another interpretation of your question, when performing a PUSH install using the Client Deployment Wizard, it will usually try to push the installation files to the ADMIN$ share on your endpoints.  This is commonly located somewhere on the C: Drive, and would be a Windows configuration to move.

Also, assuming you're expericing low disk space across the board, you may want to review the below article as well regarding how much disk space is required on the C: drive even when SEP is installed to a different drive:

I just hope that the AV updates do not sit on the C drive because they can be large and do not always get deleted in a timely manner. Another thing I have noticed, when I pushed it to another drive, I did not see any Sylink.xml file anywhere.

    Hello,

By design, the Virus definitions are installed on the C drive.

As far as Sylink.xml is concerned, check this Article:

What is the location for Sylink.xml in Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1?

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH165055

NOTE: Be sure to configure Windows Explorer to show hidden folders.

    sylink.xml for SEP 12.1 (win 2003):

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1000.157.105\Data\Config

    sylink.xml for SEP 12.1 (win 2008):

    C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1000.157.105\Data\Config

    Hope that helps!!

You can't change the location of the virus defs. it is hard coded into SEP
