Under Network Connections, Advanced, Advanced Settings, Provider Order tab, there is the Symantec SNAC Network Provider.

Is there a document out there on what exactly this is and does?

I'm not using SNAC so I'm wondering if this is essentially "turned off" but still installs as part of SEP or if it plays another role even though SNAC is not being utilized.

it does not play any role, once you install the license for snac for sepm these get activated.
