    I'm trying to install SEP on XPsp2. It indicates that it needs to update the windows installer before it continues. It indicates that it sucessfully updated the windows installer and needs to reboot. It reboots, restarts the install and indicates it needs to update the installer. It continues to loop and either never updates the windows installer, or is unable to detect it.

    Anyone have an idea?

    try this

    go to start ->run

    type msiexec /unregserver

    and then

    type msiexec /regserver

    try running the installation..hope this helps

    if not try this

    Restart in safe mode your PC go to c:\windows\system32 and rename msi.dll,msiexec.exe and msihnd.dll you can chance the ext .dll to .old
    Then restart windows to normal mode and reinstal windows installer and try the installation
    ( you can find the windows installer in CD1 of symante endpoint protection )

    Are there and software that can remove this virus without going into the registry? And do it automaticly? I have tired "Registry fixer" but it dose not seem to remove this virus. Can anyone help?
