Hello, I would like to know if Symantec endpoint protection on the same server with Symantec AV for NAS is supported? Because we are having problem in our organization. Symantec AV for NAS works great without the endpoint protection. Please advice. Eddie.

Symantec AV for NAS will only protect your NAS device.. For your server security you will need to install a Antivirus and SEP should work fine on it..
Can you let us know what kind of problems are you facing by installing both..
and make sure you install SEP 11.0.6 RU6a version its latest.

So i guess it is supported right?

    error's like that:

    VC: 3: 32: Server '22.22.4.285' returned error 'ACCESS_DENIED' when checking file '\FS2\70151\Internet\inst\proc.eml:OECustomProperty'

VC: 3: 32: Server '22.22.4.139' returned error 'FAIL' when checking file '\Shares_88\tmmlib\ANA\TZD\RAEL\sys.txt'

Without the endpoint there are no issue's.

I would suggest when you install Endpoint exclude those drives in Centralized exception
and in File-System Auto Protect disable Network Scanning.

EddieDee, I use SAV for NAS also on 7 different servers.  On one of them, I started seeing this ACCESS_DENIED and FAIL when it would be asked to scan a file.  I also started being unable to access my web based admin console on two of the servers around the same time of the SEP install, BUT uninstalling the SEP client did not fix the console issue.

We use Celerra AV as the client for these servers with SAV for NAS beign the engine and we have a support ticket open with Celerra about this, but like you said, maybe it's more SEP than anything.  I am uninstalling SEP from the one server and will see if I still get the ACCESS_DENIED and FAIL messages.

Before the installation of the SEP we didn't had any issue's.. but it is supported.
There is a new CAVA version avialable from the last few days, we will try that as well.
