  • 1.  Symantec DLP uninstallation

    Hello Guys,

    I am installing DLP agent on a windows 7 system but it is not getting install, Giving error that same version of the software already installed, So remove the previous software and then try to install.

    I did everything but DLP agent is not getting uninstalled,

    I ran the dlp uninstaller script on the system twice but not remove. Then I tried to uninstalled the agent through revo uninstaller tool.

    After that installation done but it is not showing in my DLP console. What is the problem?

    Just remember to reboot the system after the uninstallation.

    Hi,

    when you want to remove an Agent from an endpoint computer, the uninstallation password parameter pop-up window requests the uninstallation password. As I remember the default uninstall pwd is VontuStop

    You can try to use UninstallPwdKeyGenerator.exe tool: enter the following command

    -xp=<uninstall password>

    where uninstall password=VontuStop. So you can insert the set of symbols which you created with help of UninstallPwdKeyGenerator.exe in pop-up window on client machine.

    Check the services are rmove properly or no. Revo only remove the client from system but not from server, remove it manually.

    Hi,

    Seems like the agent has been installed but now the agent is not communicating with the endpoint server. 

    As asked by Yang , restart the agent system. this is especially important if you have installed DLP 11.6 or above.

    If that has been done already you may telnet the endpoint server from the agent on port 8000 and see if it works.

    If all works fine .. check the aggregator logs on the endpoint server for further errors (X:\symantecdlp\protect\logs\debug\ aggregator0.log )
