    Hi,

I have quite fresh installation of SEP 12.1.

Problem is that folder Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content -is growing fast and filling my HD.

HD size is 70GB and content (with its subfolders) is taking 33GB of it. Database is sized 13Gb.

    There is about 1000 clients.

Could anyone tell me what should I do?

I have decreased the number of content revisions to keep to 6.

Is it safe to delete subfolder of content folder? Does Manager download only needed content afterwards?

    Thank you for any pointers!

    Hi,

    Check the following articles

    Maintaining the database

Disk Space Management procedures for the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

Changing the log settings to reduce the size of the database.

Apart from this there is an options for database maintenance in SEP 12.1
    i) Truncate the database transaction log every 4 hours
ii) Rebuild the database indexes weekly 2:00 at Sunday

    Hi,

As I have mentioned already try with those two steps.

About your question : Is it safe to delete sub folder of content folder? Does Manager download only needed content after wards? --> Yes, you can delete sub folder of content folder, run luall.exe and check what SEPM has downloaded.

You have decreased the number of content revision count so it would also help to create more free space.

If you are using SQL database then you will have to repair your SQL database.

    This sorted out my problem:

To adjust the number of content updates stored by Symantec Protection Center

    1. Open the \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Protection Center\tomcat\etc\conf.properties file.
    2. Add the following setting to the file, (the example uses a value of 5, adjust the value as necessary, the default value is 10 if no entry is present)

      scm.lucontentcleanup.threshold=5
    3. Close the conf.properties file and click Yes to save your changes.
    4. Click Start > Run.
    5. Type services.msc and click OK.
    6. Right-click on Symantec Protection Center, and click Restart.
    7. Close Services.

After reboot folder size started decreasing.
Adjusting this setting (content revisions) from SEP console didn't have any effect.
