    Hi everyone.

I'm experiencing a "bug" witch I don't know how could it happen.

My SEPM 12.1 was running pretty nicely since thursday 23.

It has just stopped with no specific error. I didn t saw it as i usualy have look at the server itself on mondays and wednesday. I also didn t saw the missing green dot these last days.

Anyway, so i try to restart it and Windows says ".... Started and stopped. Some services stops automaticly when they have nothing to do ...."

A look in the event log show up this : "unable to initialize java virtual machine" event id 4096 source semsrv.

I can see 2 httpd task in task manager, dbsrv11, rotatelogs (3 times) but sepm is not running and no clients are getting updates ...

I don t know where to look to find out what causes this ...

    Please help me :)

    Hello,

Could you please upload us the scm-server-0.log and catalina.out log from the Server?

Secondly, could you please let us know which version of SEP 12.1 are you running and what database are you running?

Which OS is the Server is running on?

Did you try starting the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Services and Symantec Embedded Database Services  (incase you are running the Embedded Database ) from services.msc ?

    Awaiting the Log files.

    Thanks for your fast response.

As you mentionned those two files, i took a look at them.

It apeared that server was restarted, so i checked why, and saw that Windows Update forced the server to restart after a patch installation ....

As logs says, it was doing some LU tasks when this happens ....

    I hope it s not broken !!!

    Here are the logs.

    It s SEPM 12.1 RU1 MP1, Database is integrated (v11 i think). Server is a 2003R3 SP2 (32bits)

When i start SEPM service i get the massage stated above. The Embeded database service is responding as he should (it starts at last) ...

    Hello,

Could you restart the Server machine again and then Initiate the Symantec Management configuration Wizard

    OR

Run a Repair of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager from the Add/ Remove Programs and check if that helps!!
