New Installation on a new VM server 2008r2 ent. Only roll installed is IIS 7 (CGI, ASP.net IIS6 Compatiblity)

I have been reading support threads for 3 hours and I cannot find a solution, like many others the install is hanging on "configuring IIS" then it rolls back. Take a look at my log file and I hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

What's your version? Looks like 12.1? IIS is not needed for 12.1

    11.0.6 I'm pretty sure.

    Try removing the IIS role

    Good call.

    Here's the KB on it

Support for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.4 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

Nah, from the looks of the logs, you;re trying to install SEP11MR4 (just search for "11.0." within the logs to confirm), which doesn't support Win2k8r2.

I'd recommend downloading the latest version of the SEPM, either v11RU7MP3 or v12.1RU3.  As Brian has said, IIS is only need for v11.0.*, and is not needed for v12.1.*

Here are the general system requirements links:

    And those specifically for SEP11MR4:

Thanks, so since I don't have a maintanace contract anymore does it cost to upgrade to the latest version of SEP 11 ?

Yeah, as you're out of maintenance I'm afraid it's gonna cost to gain access to the current version.  Your alternative is to install a Win2k8 server instead if possible.

Sounds like I'll just blow the 2k8r2 server away and build a 2k8 one. I know that my version is EOL next year but we are looking at options to upgrade or switch providers in this years budget.  Thanks guys!
