    Hi,

Is there anywhere within the SEPM console where the maximum network bandwidth can be defined?

Even with GUPS set up to only use 1 mbps (5 of these set up) and clients with no GUP set to not get any downloads the SEMP server is using all available network bandwdith.

    Regards,

    Mike

for SEPM to download, you need to set on IIS side.

    Pete,

The problem is too much data is being distributed from the the SEPM to Clients/GUPs - is there anything built in that allows you to set a maximum bandwidth the SEPM can use at any one time say, 10mbps?

In SEPM, you cannot define the bandwidth usage.

But you can check the following:

    1. You can change the communication mode between the client and sepm as pull mode and set heartbeat interval to 30 mins

    2. Change the number of content revisions to keep

    100 clients: 3
    200-500 clients: 10

    Hi hidayetaltun,

We're using Windows 2008 64bit - I've found the setting under advanced settings>Connection limits and have changed the value from 429467295 bytes to 5242880 - I've performed an IIS Stop/Start (rather than reset) however - it's still using 45% of a 73Mbps connection rather than just the 5mbps allocated - is there a step i'm missing?

setting it to pull mode is good way to start with

    Hi Sandip,

I've set that to 1Mbps on all 5 GUP Policies - all other clients have temporarilty been set to not get any updates for now - that made no difference.

    Already have that set

    As it stands....

    Set to Pull Mode

    Heartbeat set to 30 minutes

    GUP setting set to 1mbps

    IIS setting set to 5mbps

    we have 2500 clients

client version is a mixture of RU6a & RU6MP2 (RU6MP2 is being pushed out via SCCM)

A restart of the server seems to have made a difference - i'm not convinced it's limited to 5mpbs seems closer to 10-15 which is acceptable and much better than it was.

The network utilization is creeping up again...
