    Posted May 09, 2011 08:45 AM

We have two networks, one 500 user network is connected to the Internet and SEPM and SEPs are working great.

However there is another network with 15 computers and one server which is by POLICY not connected to the main network and Not connected to Internet. I would like to  have the server with SEPM and managed SEP on clients. In order to avoid downloading JDB files, how and which folder can i get the definitions from first SEPM on flash and transfer it to the internet-less SEPM?

    Regards,

    Hello,

You could download the .jdb from :

    http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce

and work on the Articles provided below:

So in other words, you can not jsut carry the downloads on an existing SEPM and transfer them to an offline SEPM?

It is not possible to just transfer the updates from one SEPM to other by just coping some files. The only way to update one SEPM from the other one is replication.

You may use this script in one PC which is having internet access for downloading jdb file automatically. Then you can carry it to your SEPM which is do not having internet access

File to download JDB files for SEM

My recommendation is to use an Internal Live Update server. This will not require that your secured servers have an external line out of the company like an external one would. The LU Server and LUA Console are included on Disk 2 of the SEP 11 Release.

I am now able to work fine with JDb files. However, the proactive threat protection is not updating. How can one manually update this??

this can be acieved only by client downloading definition from SEPM or Symantec live update. There is no file (jdb kind) to update proactove or NTP definition.

You can install LUA at a machine where internet is available and from there you can copy the files to offlien SEPM
