you can use the Symantec embedded database. if your company have plan of extending more than these clients then go for sql.

what is that you looking for AD and firewall?

    Hi,

Embedded database support upto 5000 clients and SQL database support upto 8000 clients.

Choose desired database at the time install by keeping in mind future plan.

I would suggest to go with SQL database. Check the supported version & system requirements. prior to install with SQL database.

If you have multiple sites then you will have to implement GUP at each site to save bandwidth.

AD integration is really not required however check your business requirement.

    Hi,

Can anyone help me to designed /planned to implement Endpoint protection 12.1. for 5000 machines.

--> First decide the database type either Embedded or SQL.

We can provide you related documents.

Also tell me what level of changes need to done on firewall and AD integration.

--> If windows firewall is enable on machine where SEPM is installed then port exceptions need to be created under windows firewall.

If Symantec firewall (NTP) is used then no need to create port exceptions.
