SEPM and clients are not updating from live update server.

    Hi to all,

    In our SEPM server is not updating after November 25 2013 and clients also.

    But live udpate server is downloading and distributing successfully.

    In SEPM management console while clicking Download live update content.It is showing Unexpected server error.

    Please find the attached image for the same.

    Hello Mahesh,

    The error code is 4, meaning Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is trying to connect to an internal LiveUpdate server and the URL supplied to LiveUpdate is not correct under Liveudpate policy, can you double check that.

    And also check if you are able to browse that clu-prod from IE, sometimes proxy might block those if internal ips are not allowed.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reply.

    I have followed the below steps

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

    1. Open a command window, then browse to:
      C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
    2. Type lucatalo-cleanup and press Enter.
    3. Type lucatalog -forcedupdate and press Enter.
    4. Run LiveUpdate to verify that there are no errors.

    and i opened management console and given download live update content.Still i facing the same problem..

    Does SEPM direct update internet or LUA server ?

    We are using internal live update server.

    But live update server is downloading and distribution is showing successfully.

    What may the issue.Kindly help or other wise take remote of my server or contact me on 07387781333

    Dear Mahesh,

    I suggest you to remove any personal data such your phone number from public places like this forum.

    Anyone can see and use it for malicious activities such as spam, phishing and social engineering.

    Neither I would ask in public to anyone to take remote of my server just like that.

    Given the above approach to the IT security, I'm afraid, your company should review its internal security policies, the antivirus is not enough if basic security best practices are not applied.
