SEPM version 11.06300.803 windows server 2003R2. clients are win 7 64, win xp 32, 2003 and 2008 r2 server. Nothing is updating. After creating the replication partner. I shut down the original SEPM server. I thought the clients were updating so I wiped the old server. Clients can update if I let them go to symantec. I do not want the firewall traffic so I need to get them updating through the SEPM. I have verified that the SEPM is downloading updates. I have done this check. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.x is not updating 32 or 64 bit virus definitions.  http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH104721&locale=en_US. This checks out OK.

I have done this  (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.x Communication Troubleshooting )But when I get to the part Database Assessment
Verify communication to the embedded (Sybase) database. testing the connection to the database fails error invalid user name or password

    . I used the password that I documented. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH102681&key=54619

Home directory was pointing to default iis location. I changed it to c::\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\Content

Every thing was set to the latest definitions. I even created a new policy, and assigned all groups to it. Thanks for the continued support.

I want to thank Chetan for sticking with this to the end. His persistance, ultimately helped resolve my issues. Here is what was wrong.

1.Nothing could connect to the OBDC database. When I looked at the settings there was no user name or password. Once I got the correct info in place that issue was resolved.

    2. The website home directory was not pointing to the correct location. I changed it but that change was not correct. I went one sub folder to far. When I finally had it pointing to inetpub, every client got their latest definitions.
