I have one client in my environment, a 2008 R2 server, that won't update virus definitions from the management servers

I have tried repairing the client, and the issue still is there.

Error in the SEP system log on the client is:

A LiveUpdate session encountered errors.  1 update(s) were available. 0 update(s) installed successfully. 1 update(s) failed to install.

An update for Virus and Spyware Definitions Win64 from LiveUpdate failed to install. Error: Prepackage callback failed (200)

Did you tried to update the client by using intelligent updater?

Yes, and it updates just fine through that.  But I don't want to have to keep doing that every day.

Run Rx4defs or delete the definitions

Then run Intelligent updater.

If this fixes the issue, you don't have to do it again.

Is there a proxy configured in IE? If yes try by bypassing it.

You can get it from Symantec support. For this you may have to create a case with them.

No proxy.  Where do I get Rx4defs?  Deleting the defs doesn't help.  The problem is still there.

You either have to create a case with them or do it manually.

OK, guess I do a case with support.  ALready have a recent copy of clean wipe.  May just use it and start over, but was trying to learn how to troubleshoot Live Update problems on the version 12 client.
