    Hello.

    Please give me an information about controlling SKYPE in Symantec DLP (version 11.5):

    - which components can control SKYPE

    - what Skype's traffic can be controlled by DLP

    - can I control access to file on local PC;

    - what else  (for SKYPE) I can control using SDLP...

    Thank you

    For these questions, you might consider shooting the Product Manager an email at dlpprodmgr@symantec.com.

    I am sure he can quickly answer your DLP questions.

    Best,

    Thomas

    May be some users can share their experience and knowledge about using SDLP for controlling Skype and etc programs (which can be very big hole in organization security).

    Thank you

    Hi,

    As Skype is using an encrypted network protocol, it's not possible to to monitor it on the network level with DLP. However the Endpoint Prevent agent is capable of monitoring application file access and activity at the endpoints. Skype application monitoring is already built-in and configured as shown here:

    Any custom application can be monitored like this and there are plenty of others built-in already.

    Regards,

    Barnabas
