Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) does work in safe mode.

Once you try to open SEP in safe mode, will receive the warning. You must click on "NO"

    Hi,

Yes, Symantec does run in safe mode.

I don't think there should be any problem while accessing mass storage devices.

    Hello,

Symantec Management Client service would not be running in the Safe Mode, however, you will still be able to scan the machine.

All your Answers are provided in the Article below:

    1) Error: "It appears that the Symantec Management Client service is not running." when launching Symantec Endpoint Protection client in Safe Mode.

Auto-Protect would also not be running in Safe Mode.

If the mass storage device is on the network and you did not choose Safe Mode with Networking, then you will probably not be able to get to it. This has nothing to do with SEP.

    Thanks for the Update

Question  : Will the Auto-protect Work in Safe mode to keep the computer protected all time

It appears you're asking a question I've already answered: Auto-Protect does not load in Safe Mode. (Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post.) If you open the SEP user interface while in Safe Mode, it will likely say that Auto-Protect is malfunctioning. That is expected (and why I recommend using Safe Mode with Networking with care). You can still successfully run a system scan, though.

    Thanks Sandra

But My problem is that there are few Admins in my domain who may login to safe mode and use the USB drives which is not permitted hence they might have infection in that so how does SEP detect if Auto-protect is disable

    Any workaround

    Thanks

Can blocking of USB considered in that case?

Even files are copied, they cannot be executed in safe mode!

Device control does not work in Safe Mode.

I Agree that SEP services and Device control does not work

Then how SEP protects the computer if a person login to the system in safe and try to spread virus through USB
