  • 1.  PXE Server Over multiple Subnets

    Hi ,

I would like to have a PXE server for multiple VLANS in my network, for me PXE works like a charm in the same Subnet.

I have a single DHCP server for all the VLANS. Iam directing DHCP Request from other Subnets to the DHCP Server using IPHELPER command in my switch.

As PXE server acts as a Proxy DHCP server ,  should i direct these requests to the PXE server ?!! Would this work ??

    Regards

Got a similar situation with one of my clients. Seems there's a couple of options: either have a PXE server on each subnet (not practical in my case) or add another IP Helper to each subnet for the PXE server. You may also need to designate one or more devices on a subnet for forwarding Wake-on-LAN packets.
