  • 1.  "Proactive Threat Protection" in SEP wont update and remains off despite pushing the "fix now" button

    Does any one know how to fix this issue. First I noticed that the SEP was had turned itself off. When I checked it the updates where all old (two weeks or more) and it would not update. My IT guy deleted SEP and re-installed and it updated except Proactive Threat Protection which is off because "Waiting for updates" is displayed.

     It might not be communicating with SEP Manager Console.
    go to help and support and troubleshooting to check the status.
    Is it Off-line, Self Managed or is showing SEPM servers' Name/IP.

    When I look in my Update Manager Server, I see revisions 2010-01-08 rev. 002 (1 computer updated)       2009-12-31 rev.119 (4 computers updated) and 2009-12-31 rev. 041 (70 computers updated).  Apparently the oldest revision applies to all of our 32-bit computers.  I would like to believe that the definitions on these computers are getting updated, I've called tech support twice and they say the definitions are up to date, but didn't have me check anything because they say the date is frozen and the rev won't update either despite the website saying otherwise, I'm just to take their word that the definition files are getting updated.  I would like some way to verify that the definitions are updating and if they aren't updating, what work arounds are available.

    Try by repairing the client from add/remove programs.If note helps upgrade it to RU5 (11.0.5).RU5 having a fix for this problem

    Symptom: Proactive Threat Protection displays the status "Waiting for Update" after a client migration.
    Solution: After migration, Proactive Threat Protection should be "on" and should display the latest version.
    Release notes for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.x and Symantec Network Access Control 11.0.x 
    Note:This suggestion I am giving by assuming that your clients is able to communicate with SEPM,SEPM having updates and AV/AS getting regular updates in the client.
