PGP WDE Error code -12198 Not permitted by your administrator

    Hello,

    i am trying to encrypt a disk with PGP 10.2 MP5 (fresh installation) command line (PGPWDE.exe).

    instrumenting disk works

    pgpwde.exe --disk 0 --instrument

    when i try to add the user

    pgpwde.exe  --disk 0 --add-user --u MAX --p somepassphrase --admin-authorization

    pgpwde.exe  --disk 0 --add-user --u MAX --p somepassphrase

    i get the following error

    Error code -12198 Not permitted by your administrator

     

    We are using PGP Universal Server and the user who is trying this is member of the WDE-Admin AD group and local Administrator.

     

    How  can i solve this?

    I would check universal server policy.

    Make sure Allow encryption boxes are checked.

     

    What results you obtaing when attemping to encrypt in PGP Desktop window?
