last days, I distributed the updates (JAVA6-29 and APSB11-26), then several users give me the feedback that the updates uninstall the softwares on their computers.

    updates info.

    what's the problem with me?

    thanks!

So.. is it really missing, or did they just report it?  What files remain on the computer(s)?  What does the event log say?

For the Java update, it seems to indicate that the .cab file is corrupted; can the update be installed manually?  You may want to try deleting the source files from the NS and redownloading the package files.

Do you have a proxy server or web filter?  It could be that the proxy is interfering with the actual patch binary downloads and the "patch" file is in fact raw HTML code with an .MSI file extension or similar.  I have seen that numerous times.

    Hi Zhao Jie,

Unfortunately there is a known issue (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=7042296) in Oracle bugbase related to incorrect behavior of JRE installer in case Internet Explorer is opened. We will update as soon as we get any new information on this.

I would suggest you to make sure Internet Explorer is closed while you are trying to install the patches for JRE.

Regarding, Flash… May you please provide more information about this issue? Could you please try to install the same bulletin/update using the PMImport version 7.1.269 (or later) and let me know if the problem is still reproducible on your side?

Under ”the updates uninstall the softwares” do you mean that Flash has been disappeared from Windows “Add/Remove programs”?

    Thanks,

    Dmitri

    Hello Dmitri,

Thanks for your help. I think Symantec should make the software update solution better, or need users resolve the problem in other ways. :)
