Patch Management Solution

Hi

Someone in Symantec told me that the maintenance of the Patch Metadata for rev 6.X will cease in April this year  i.e. no more updates will be tracked and made available through Rev 6. Can someone confirm this and point me to somewhere that officially states this - as I need to let my customers knwo about this.

Discovered that PMIMPORT on 6.x was dead.  I knew it was coming, but of course, didn't have any reminders that it was ending this month.  We're almost ready to get everyone to 7.5 (have a lot of packages yet to re-create and create compliance rules around), but not quite there yet.

I guess we're manually patching 700 machines for a few months... :(

2. PM 6.2 EOL Resolution: Upgrade to 7.5+ to continue utilizing the product and current licenses: Review KM: DOC5668
   1. Also view KM: HOWTO80654, for it details the prerequisites to be implemented before migrating
       
3. PM 6.2 EOL Workaround: Advised to use Software Delivery Solution in CMS 6.X:
   1. Process will take package creations, scripting and targeting client filters through SWD

     Additionally, keep in mind that Windows XP will soon be EOL and that is outlined further on KM: HOWTO88633.
