  • 1.  Package\task server port to communicate with NS

    What ports does the Package\task server  need open to communicate with the notification Server.

    Is it only port 80?

    I know the Package\task server will need inbound 50124 for the task agents to report or 50123 if you have tickle enabled.

    But as far as the two servers communicating  Package\task server  with the NS it is only port 80 ....correct?

    You may want to include ports 50120 and 50121 in that list.  The Altiris 6 ports list KB still applies for the most part: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO3401

    Ok, so the package/task server communicates with the NS through port 80.

    The clients communicate to the package/task server through port 50124. ( I don't enable anything else)

    The package/task server communicates to the clients through port 80 sending packages and so forth.

    Now after enableing HTTPS and installing a third party certificate how are the clients going to communicate to the package/task server and how is this server going to communicate with the NS?
