What is the maximum number of groups that I can create in SEPM 12.1 RU2?

Sep Client Group or GUP ?

I don't believe there is a stated amount, however, how many do you think you will need?

I have worked on SEPMs with groups into the 100s and even one case where it was over 1,000.

Currently we are having 2000+ groups and we may have to double it. and add few subgroups.

It depends on the hardware specs of your DB host. You can add that amount of groups but there could be a performance hit if you have inadequate hardware.
