Hi harold,
On Windows 2008 R2 add the following Roles and add the Role Services to the defaults (accept all prompts for further required role services):
•File Services
•Web Server (IIS), add the following Role Services to the defaults,
•ASP.NET
•Application Development > ASP
•Security > Windows Authentication
•Management Tools > IIS 6 Management Compatibility and all sub options
•Common HTTP features > Static Content
•Common HTTP features > Directory Browsing
•Application Server
•.NET Framework
•IIS Support
Then, once Task and/or Package Service has installed:
•IIS Manager > Sites > Default Web Site > Altiris > Client Task Server > Advanced Settings > Application Pool > Classic .NET AppPool
•IIS Manager > Application Pools > DefaultAppPool > Advanced Settings > Enable 32-bit Applications > True

Installing Task Server in IIS 7.0 or 7.5
www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO47804
1. We have to check the task status in SMA(symantec management agent) in that site server.
2. It should point to its self.
3. If not then we have to check with the task service.
4. In which drive you have installed SMA?
5. How did you install SMA and task service in that site server?
6. According to the task status we can trouble shoot the issue
Let me know the status :)
