    Hi Admins

We often see new users trying to post, but apparently blocked by the spam filter.

The weird thing is that these posts do not show up with the 'usual' red dashes around them.
It appears as a new post in the the forums (see attachment), but when trying to open it, we see this message:

We're sorry, but the author of this page has restricted access to it.

If you have questions about why you can't access this page, please contact us.

    Link to this post:

Any reason why blocked posts are visible in the forums?

    PS:
I received this message when saving the post just now:

The selected file sites/default/files/NewPost.JPG could not be uploaded, because the destination is not properly configured.

Thanks Marianne! I've submitted a ticket for our dev team to investigate right away.

Marianne, I'm unable to see these posts in the forum.

It does take a minute for the forum list pages to refresh once a post is deleted. This be a case of catching a post that's been deleted but has not yet disappeared from the post list?

Can you attach a screen capture of the forum list page with the post in question circled?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

p.s. I was able to reproduce the error uploading images and have opened a ticket with our server team.

I found the post in question on page three of the NetBackup forum.

    We'll investigate.

    Hi Marianne,

We're still working on the issue with the file upload error but we've fixed the problem of unpublished posts showing up on the forum list pages.

The fix will apply to new posts that are unpublished or saved in draft mode. If you find any old posts that are on the forum list pages, you can remove them by publishing them and then unpublishing them.

    Sorry about the inconvenience.

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin

We cannot access these posts to try and publish them. Unlike quarantined posts with the red dashes around them.

As per my opening post, attempts to open these posts result in the 'restricted access' error.

I have just tried again - both posts are still inaccessible.

    Different errors:

The 1st one (no longer listed in NetBackup forum):

We're sorry, but the author of this page has restricted access to it.

If you have questions about why you can't access this page, please contact us

    2nd one  (probably deleted ?):

The requested page could not be found.

Not sure what was done in the meantime...

The post that I mentioned in my opening post was originally posted on 3 July, but could only be opened a couple of hours ago...

This is another example of an access denied discussion

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-backup-exec-2010-no-backup-and-tape-ejecting-automatically

However, someone seems to be able to access and answer it because there is a blue dot next to it.

    Another one:

    Cant compress Netbackup Catalog DB

Nothing to do with cache as the post is almost 90 minutes old....

The user is new to Connect.
My assumption is that he is either doing something wrong (post left in draft mode) or else his post is blocked by Mollom.

Admins - please have a look?

    Thanks.

...I'm not sure if I am being overly-suspicious, but I see this on the BE forums...and then when it is "unlocked" there is normally 1 or 2 people that have responded first as their first post of the day...just something I am busy checking out.

    Thanks!
