    Hi Guys,

I know that you can change the default installation folder for the SEP client. However, the virus definitions continue to be copied to C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Definitions.

If you have a customer who needs the definitions put onto another drive because their system drive is near capacity, is it possible to do so? My research says no. Is there a work around?

    Hello,

What verison of SEP 12.1 are you running?

How much of the Disk space is the Definition folder using?

I agree with Ashish that the folder could not be moved, however we could troubleshoot on what and why is Definition folder consuming high disk space.

    Check this Article:

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1 client is maintaining multiple virus definitions versions on servers.

    Also, check this Thread:

    Hope that helps!!

It is not possible as said above and 12.1 retains only one revision.

But there is an unsupported registry tweak which worked for us. But our Symantec RPS clearly stated that it is not recommended.

Thanks for all of your comments guys!

Basically, it comes down to the customer having under spec'd system drives.

I was also thinking that you could use junction points.

    I agree on the idea.

If we can customize the defs location it would be nice.
