    I tried out Outlook 2013 (x64) a few days ago - found that I could not open any mail signed with PGP.

    Has anyone else tried out Outlook 2013? Do you have the same problem?

    I'm guessing that you are already aware that current PGP Desktop release notes do not show support for Outlook beyond the 2010 version, but am mentioning this just to make sure.

    Yes - I'm aware that 2013 is not formally supported - but wanted to check out what issues other users might have found.

    Hi bolsover,

    We know about this issue and we a few others that current PGP has with outlook 2013. They are being fixed and will be shipped in one of the coming releases.

    Hmm did some testing with Office 2013(32Bit) & PGP Desktop 10.3.0 MP1 on Win7 SP1

    Had no problems with

    PGP Signed (inline PGP)

    PGP Singed & Encrypted

    S/Mime Signed

    S/Mime Signed & Encrypted

    But as Tom mentioned Outlook 2013 is not supported at the moment. But also the Field is hoping to have support soon.

    I found Sven_Franks last comment interesting. It sounds like it's maybe just a problem with Microsoft Outlook 2013 64-bit edition then?

    @bolsover - I would suggest a few things:

    1) Check your Outlook trust center to see what other add-in's are loaded in Outlook.

    2) Can you also please check the Windows registry for these values to see what they are set to? They should be set to 1 for Email Encryption support

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PGP Corporation\PGP]

    "PGP_INSTALL_MAPI_PLUGIN"=dword:00000001
    "PGP_INSTALL_LSP"=dword:00000001
    "PGP_INSTALL_MAPI"=dword:00000001

    You should also have the following:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_DLLs

    Check and see if PGPmapih.dll is listed in there. If you have any security software enabled. Try disabling or possibly uninstall that to see if that helps.

    3) To put Symantec Encryption Desktop in full debug mode go here:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO64205

    Right click PGP tray afterwards and you can select the Debug Logging option. You can then choose to check all the options such as Debug, Function entry/exit, Raw data, etc. set proxylib to 00F00 and TLS to 0700. This will allow you to capture much more verbose logs form the Desktop client. If you would like, I can share an secure file storage location for you to share the logs with us of your testing. I would like to confirm if this is already a known issue or if we need an additional bug logged to track this problem on Outlook 2013.

    As others have mentioned on this forum, I think it's important to note that we do not currently have support for Outlook 2013. But it would be good to do due dilligence and also provide best effort support in this case.

    Would like to keep informed when PGP Desktop is officially supported for Office 2013.

    Just as an FYI:

    10.3.0 MP2 is out:

    And you might find the following line of the Release Notes intressting.

    Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3 MP2 for Windows supports the use of the Symantec™ Desktop Email Encryption, Powered by PGP Technology component for Microsoft Outlook 2013 (32-bit) with Windows 8 and Exchange 2010.

    Can someone confirm if 10.3.0 Mp2 is working or them with Outlook 2013 on Windows 8 on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows? I'm stilll trying to determine what is pending on 64-bit Outlook 2013 to hold that from being documented in the release notes as being compatible also.

    Hi Ben,

    I have installed pgp 10.3.1 and it is still not working on Outlook 2013.  There are no errors in the log - do you have any suggestions as to what I can try?

    Regards Steve

    it works...some times.

    if you install the software and first time generate keys than it works,

    if you install the software and import your priv. keys than it does NOT work at all.

    very strange.
