    Hi Kmclaurin,

The SEPM cannot be configured to download only 32-bit content, but LUA 2.x can be.  Don't just put a check mark next to SEP 11 when chosing what to download- expand it (click the +) and select only the materials that are relevant to your environment.  If you have no 64-bit machines, then save a lot of bandwidth by selecting only the 32-but components.

(Also, just in case you were not aware: the SEPM and LUA should not be installed on the same server--- see LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on the Same Physical Server)

Please let the forum know if this answers your question or if more guidence is neede - I can supply some screenshots if they would help.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick

About 95% of my clients have only one server so separating them out is not an option.  Also, about 90% of my clients have zero 64bit machines installed.  All I can say is thank God for SEBSBE 12.

When I expand the selection, it allows me to check the English version only, but I don't see 32bit or 64bit.

    Mick,
I've got LU 2.x but I don't see the options you mention.  Just option to select languages of your choice.  Any ideas?

    Hi again,

Languages are chosen when selecting the whole product.  It's when chosing what to download that individual components are selected.

Just create a new download, add products, and then expand the selections to choose only what you need in your environment:

Have a look, I bet you will be saving yourself a great deal of bandwidth soon!

Be sure to let the forum know if this has solved your query!

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick

    HI,

To be sure that I use up-to-date soft I downloaded today new version of LUA (Version: 2.2.2.9) - uninstalled older, installed new - changed path to store downloads (created new) to see about definitions sizes.

Checked only Mick2009 suggested components - downloaded - 670 MB for SESC (for only 32 bit clients) and SESM and SESM v2 (for Manager) - 580 MB.
I`ve also read article " LiveUpdate Administrator 2.2: What product selections are needed for specific versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection". and almost every week size of downloads are not less then 400MB (but very often more then 1GB !!!! by advizing of symantec articles like Document ID: 2008101012361148)
What is wrong ? What should be done or checked ?

Before I downloaded definitions by single files with their size about 50 Mb every 3 days and I had not any issues with my internet bandwidth.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Faxrus
