    Hi all,

Just want to know what is the meaning of the follow event log that was captured on LUA:

The following updates were found missing on source server "Symantec LiveUpdate" during download:  "1374061774jtun_enn01md2v2.osx 1375803994jtun_130802002.skn 1375803994jtun_130726003.skn 1375797853jtun_nav2k8en130804019.m25 1375803994jtun_130722002.skn 1374061459jtun_enn08md2.osi 1375803994jtun_130718003.skn 1374061459jtun_enn06md2.osi". Download request id is "167".'

Does it means that my server can't download these files from Symantec Liveupdate server? If so, would there be any attempts from my server or Symantec Liveupdate servers to download these files? There are more such events captured and cause the scheduled download jobs to run for around 4 hours.

    Regards,
    Qingyan

    Hi pete,

Hope there is no misunderstanding. Currently, my server is installed with LUA and trying to get updates via the Internet from Symantec server (which i have no idea where is it). And this event log is captured by LUA installed on my server.

    Regards,
    Qingyan

Should be a time out issue. can you try creating an new test download and run it again?

This should help for such issues.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    Q. Does it means that my server can't download these files from Symantec Liveupdate server? If so, would there be any attempts from my server or Symantec Liveupdate servers to download these files?

--> As per the logs few updates were not available on Symantec liveupdate sever. There will be always attmpt from LUA server to download the latest definitions from Symantec liveupdate server as per the schedule.

    LUA is still not updated?

Very offen this error is to be understood literally and indicates that LUA is trying to download old definitions files from Symantec servers that are longer there.

Possible cause here can be the proxy server that is caching the content downloaded from internet servers. Do you have any proxy between LUA and Internet /Symantec Servers? If yes can you check if any kind of content caching is enabled there?

You can try as well allowing LUA to go to internet directly without Proxy and check if in this configuration the errors are occuring as well.

    Hello,

I agree with Sebastian's comment above.

Check this Thread with similar issue:

    Hi Qingyan,

When time allows, can you update this thread with your progress?  After putting those LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x Server Connection Recommendations in place, are you still seeing errors?

Just from the file names above, it looks like you are download SEP for Mac definitions, SEP 11 Windows defs, and some SEP 11 PTP files.  If your environment needs only Windows files or only Mac files, then you can tune your LUA download and distribution jobs and save a lot of bandwidth and space.

    Hope this helps!
