    Check sandra.g Comments

LUA never pushes definitions; client must always request, and the same is true for SEP on Windows (even the 'push' connection is a misnomer, as the 'push' is merely a prompt to check in and make the request). There is no equivalent to a JDB that can be dropped into LUA to update it, so yes, you will need the internet to update LUA. JDBs will NOT supply definitions to Linux machines.

You could manually download Intelligent Updater definitions for Linux and distribute them to your clients via script or something like that.

    Hello,

How far are you getting?  Is LUA able to successfully download and distribute the SAVFL definitions?  If there is a failure, you will see it in the LUA Event Log.

If so, then the problem is likely with the SAVFL clients: LiveUpdate on the Linux machines.

Are some SAVFL clients able to successfully connect to that Distribution Center and retrieve the latest definitions?  Or are all failing to do so?

The log on each individual SAVFL client is called liveupdt.log - the location is configurable, but it is generally in /opt/Symantec/LiveUpdate/liveupdt.log

    This article may help:

Configuring Symantec Antivirus for Linux (SAVFL) to download definitions from the Distribution Center of an internal LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) 2.x Server

    Hope that helps!!

    Hi,

Do you know any KB article for the claim that we can't make the LUA to push updates on Linux servers? I mean you know, Managers need that stuff.

    Thanks,
