    Hello,

    Here the Upgrade License would allow you to download the Latest SEP 12.1 from the Symantec Fileconnect Website.

    Once you have downloaded the Latest Version of DVD, you could then Migrate SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 and use the Latest License (.slf ) file on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, which would distribute the License to all client machines.

    Check this Article below for all Migration Documents:

    Hello,

    Are you planning to upgrade you SEPM and all client from 11.x to 12.1 or just one win 7 client to 12.1?

    AS SEPM 11.x will not be able to manage 12.1 client.

    You can install SEP 12.1 on win7 machin as unmanaged client as well.

    If you are palnning to migrate,your migration path should be as below

    11.x ---> 12.1RU1--> 12.1 RU1 MP1

    Upgrading or migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1(RU1 )

    Upgrading or migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1101 (RU1 MP1)

    My question is similar, in my case customer bought new SEP 12.1 licenses and want to use this 12.1 license in older SEP 11 version because one of his clients is only supported in SEP11 .

    Can he use the 12.1 SLF file for the SEP11 download? I have in mind that in SEP11 no slf was needed am i wrong ? Is customer care then just providing a M****** serial number so he's able to download the SEP11 after providing the customernumber `?

    UPDATE: confirmed by customer care : if new customer buys SEP 12.1 he's allowed to call customer care, provides CustomerNUmber and receives M****** Serial Number to download SEP 11 from FileConnect . While SEP11 doenst need SLF he can just install the product, and he's fine.

    regards
    ben

    Thanks Everyone, that replied to this post.

    The problem was in missing SLF file. It really has no probems with new version after receiving license file.
