Instructions for Installing SEP 12.1.2 Files

The primary download is distributed into two installation files: Part1_Installation and Part 2_Tools. Please download and extract both files before continuing with the software setup.

I'm using Symantec Protection Suite Small Business Edition 4.0 for all my customers.  12.1.2 is not showing yet as of this writing.  Only 12.1.1 is displaying.  Please advise.  Thanks.

OR

You may like to try contacting the Symantec Licensing Department and they may provide you with the Temporary Serial number, with which you could download the Latest SEP SBE 12.1 RU2 version.

Hi,

I have installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 But , still its not supporting Windows 8.

I tried both the installation (Managed and Unmanaged). But no luck.

Its installing and then rolling back.

Any solution for this.

It's know issue

Symantec Endpoint Protection client fails to install to recently updated Windows 8 computers

Disable Windows Defender and remove KB2781197 and try the install again

When was the Last time you restarted the machine? I would suggest you to restart the machine and check again.

Could you post us the SEP_Inst.log?

Secondly, try running the SymHelp Utility which may assist you to understand the basic issues.

Again, there is a known issue, Symantec Endpoint Protection client fails to install to recently updated Windows 8 computers. Please refer to below technote for more details. Check whether you are having the same issue.

You can work around this problem using one of the following:

• Disable Windows Defender before installing the SEP client
• Remove KB2781197 before installing the SEP client
