This release provides extended Mac protection, Mac OS 10.9 support, Microsoft Windows 8.1 support, and security improvements, by including the following new features:

• Support for Mac OS 10.9 “Mavericks”.

• Mac IPS protection – Network Intrusion Prevention System based on signatures where each payload in network packet is inspected and compared against a known network attack.  If the signatures match, the packet is not allowed to go further in the TCP/IP stack.

• Support for Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Windows 2012 R2. 

• Additional Mac client features – New client UI, Update to LiveUpdate 6, Scheduled Scan options parity with Windows, and changes to Mac client packaging to support better distribution via third party deployment tools.

• Mac client support for 4 additional localized languages; Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.

• SEPM Manageability enhancements – Allowing immediate critical security event notification and additional telemetry.

• Fixes for customer reported defects.

RU3 is missing, I assume that's an unintentional oversight and it RU4 will update RU3 just fine?

NOTE: There has not been a Mac update since SEP 12.1.2 so it should be OK.

Any news on when this will be out in localized versions, especially German? Right now I'm only able to download 12.1.4 in English. Also, could you show the full version number in the fileconnect list? I have to click on each of the download links to figure out which version it is *exactly*. It's only listed as "12.1".

Localized versions generally follow within a couple of weeks of the English version.  I expected they will be available in early November / before mid-November.

SEPM 11.x cannot manage 12.1 clients

1. Is it free to upgrade from SEP 11.x to 12.1.4?

2. If the version of the management console of my company is 11.0, may i use a SEP windows client of version 12.1.4?

I have issues with the download of "Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN.exe".

The MD5 is wrong and when verify the file it contains corrupt files.. (according to 7-zip), "Part2" and "SEPM" download was ok.

I have tested on 3 different computers and both https download and download manager.

 

Any idea why?

I have the same issues here.

Download completes without any error, the md5sum is the same as mentioned on the Download Site but if I try to extract die Files, all of them are corrupt and can not be used. I tried Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN.exe and Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_GE.exe, both with the same result.

Hopefully this could be fixed soon :)

I was having the same issue, but had success with using the Download Manager instead of the direct link.  Hope that helps.

One more question , for windows clients we have options to select the client install features set, but for Mac  this option is not available, 

if we need to exclude the IPS for mac ,  how to we do that?

Yes, this still applies to 12.1.4. No changes were made to the documentation.

Correct. There have been no changes to the Installation and Administration Guide since SEP 12.1.RU2.

Anyone installed 12.1.4  SEPm version, yesterday I have Insalled 12.1.4 in my new DEV server ,with win 2008 R2 with SQL 2012 . 

today morning when I login to SEPm console I am getting unexpected error . PFA.

the same issue I have faced in SEP 12.1 RU2, again in SEP 12.1 RU4

There is no option to add/remove IPS feature during the installation, but the IPS feature can be disabled by policy or in the UI .

Hello,

Try Logging into the SEPM using a user account that has full rights to access both the SEPM and the external SQL database.

OR

Run the management server configauration wizard and in the SEPM configuration to SQL, change to SA authentification from Windows authentication.

I have full administrator rights for SEPM server and SQL database.  We have configured SQL authentication in windows autentication , same configuration we are using in prodcution environment , no issues in 12.1 RU3.

are you on https://fileconnect.symantec.com using your serial number?

yes, i have downloaded

Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Win32-bit_Client_FR.exe

and

Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Win64-bit_Client_FR.exe

but in symantec endpoint manager / admin / packages, i can only add *.info or *.zip files .....

Download the one with name:

"Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_FR.exe" or

"Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_SEPM_FR.exe"

-> extract -> and in the following subfolder ..\SEPM\Packages you will find the .info files for 32bit and 64bit clients packages.

Is the file being detected at all?

If not, you need to zip and submit to Symantec:

Is there any know issues in RU4 or RU4a versions? We are planning to Migrate the SEPM server from RU3 to RU4a , and still our clients are in RU1 MP1 version , if we upgrade the SEPM to RU4a, is there any impact on  the clients, may be we will upgrade the clients in 2 or 3 months?

can we upgrade the clients directly from RU1 MP1 to RU4 ?

yes, it can be upgraded.

Yes you can direct upgrade SEPM 12.1.4 but you wait couple of week symantec will be release next SEPM 12.1.4 MP1 version.
