    Cause

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is unable to access a remote resource. The "...\tomcat\temp\index[X].html (The system cannot find the file specified)" messages generally indicate that the SEPM is not able to access current Symantec threat information over an Internet connection. In another instance, the SEPM points to the external LiveUpdate Administrator to download the definitions and the index file is never cleared on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

    Solution

-Check if there is any ISA server.
    * to configure the ISA server:

How to do this in ISA 2004.

      1.) Open ISA Server Management
2.) Go to Arrays then double click on your server name.
      3.) Click on Firewall Policy
4.) In the right pane choose Toolbox
      5.) Click on Network Objects
      6.) Select Url Sets
7.) Right click and get New Url Set
8.) Input the name of URL set and the address:
    • Then

I had this problem on our corporate sep manager, which haven't access to internet. I don't know why, don't know what is a right solution. I just made a workarraund.  Make all *.html files (names can receive from error log) - indexW.html, indexV.html, ... Copy them to ...\tomcat\temp\ by scheduler every 3-4 hourse (becouse them removed by sep manager). That's all. I'm know, this is not professional, but what i can do?

    Regards.
