Thanks for your replies. Here is some history for you.
Just prior to April 1 (the conficker hype) I discovered no clients were receiving current virus definitions from SEPM and Live Update was locked down. There were multiple client versions in the field that were installed using different SEP installation versions, so I decided to start from scratch and upgrade to 11.x. I created the policies to just push out and keep updated the anti-virus and anti-malware definitions and allowed clients to do manual Live Updates, as well as push out the latest client version over a one week period during slow network utilization. The clients are being updated, but report that their anti-virus definitions are out of date. A manual uninstall of the client, deletion of the SEP folder under %programfiles% and the SymentecVolatile registry hive under HKLM\Software, and a manual installation of the new client starts communication back with the SEPM server. No automated process works to my knowledge cleanly, which is why I wanted Cleanwipe.
I can be contacted via email from the case contact, and appreciate any and all assitance you can provide!
Regards,
Mike (mdwhome)
