How to uninstall SEP 12.1 with push deployment

  • 1.  How to uninstall SEP 12.1 with push deployment

    Posted Apr 24, 2013 10:29 PM

    Hi,

    So my problem is this, I support a local company in my country for SEP. I've installed SEP 12.1 clients in their computers and by mistake i've installed SEP on computers which are not supposed to be installed. So my question is this, can I use push deployment method to uninstall SEP to specific workstations that is not supposed to have SEP???

    By the way i've been using "cleanwipe" software to uninstall SEP manually if ever there is a problem with the installation, and then I install SEP again.

    Hope some can answer.

    hello,

    this way you can uninstall sep client

    Methods for uninstalling Symantec Endpoint Protection

    Article:TECH184988 | Created: 2012-03-27 | Updated: 2012-05-30 | Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH184988

    You can use SEPprep utility

    SEPprep: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH148513

    You may want to try SEPprep utility. Its a competitive product uninstall tool. But it can also be configured to uninstall SEP Client by modifying the following line in the SEPprep.ini file.

    RemoveSymantec=Y

    You can push this to the clients through GPO (like a logon script) or using a deployment tool.

    -->  No, can't use push deployment.

    To only uninstall SEP you can't use SepPrep tool. It can be used to remove SEP and reinstall it again.
