    Hi,

Is there any way to hide SEP 12.1 installation so that it will be near to impossible to detect that SEP is installed on the system?

    Thanks

    Hi Mahendra,

It's possible to hide SEP icon from taskbar, you can refer following article

How to prevent SEP features from being disabled in the client GUI in SEP 12.1

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH168990

You will have to uncheck following options under client user interface

    1) Display the client

    2) Display the notification area icon.

I hope it will answer your query.

    Hello,

Your question - "I want to hide SEP  notification icon, start menu group, add remove programs list, Setup folder in program files, in short from everywhere and that too on an unmanaged system. Is it possible?"

    Answer -

    1) hide SEP notification icon - As stated above by ManishS it is Possible, check this Article:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102884

    2) start menu group - It is Possible by creating a Custom Package and deploying it, check this Article: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH165801

    3) add remove programs list - Not possible with SEP. However contact Microsoft, probably they can assist you.

    4) Setup folder in program files - Not possible with SEP, however you can hide them via Windows GPO, check this Article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc961717.aspx

    5) in short from everywhere and that too on an unmanaged system. - Not possible with SEP. However contact Microsoft, probably they can assist you.

However, Question arises since you are going to have a unmanaged computer, why hide SEP?

How are you thinking of Hiding the services of SEP in the services.msc?

    Hope that helps!!

You can use third party tools like ccleaner to remove the entry from add/remove programs.

You can not hide all of the SEP services that run.

There really is not reason to hide SEP.

Your users need to know that it is working.

They need to be notifified of any risks detected and the status of the infection.

I have trained over 5000 users to look for the green dot and call the helpdesk if they cannot see it.

    Just my 2 cents
