  • 1.  How do i update my Live update administrator product catalog without going out to the internet

    Hi

    I have just installed my Live update administrator in my closed network, which do not have any internet access.

    How do i update my product catalog offline?

    Hi,

    I don't think it's possible.

    You can update LUA ( Which has no internet connectivity ) with another LUA which has an Internet connectivity

    Thumbs up to above advice. You should have a machine configured as LUA connected to internet. It can be distribuition source for offline LUA ( not connected to internet).

    my external liveupdate server product catalog is updated and its downloading the content for SEP12.1.

    However, in my internal liveupdate server, the product catalog does not consist of SEP12.1. If thats the case, is my internal liveupdate server still able to distribute the content of SEP12.1 that i have downloaded from my exernal liveupdate server?

    The internal liveupdate should also have SEP 12.1 catalog to process

    i am only able to get sep12.1 catalog after updating my catalog

    "Thumbs up," but an even better article for your situation might be this one:

    Updating downloads in an internal LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x Server using the downloads from an external LiveUpdate Server

    (Here is an informal article on why it is better to always got to external networks - A Helpful LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x Analogy  - but if that closed network has ZERO internet connectivity possible, this "sneakernet" method may be your best solution.)

    A few questions.....

    • Which version of LUA are you using?
    • Which Symantec products and versions are being updated?  (SEP 11 or SEP 12.1?  Also, any additional Symantec producst getting updated-?)
    • Does the LUA on the closed/internal network distribute to many Distribution Centers, or are you using just its default clu-prod?

    With answers to those I may be able to provie you with some additional advice.
