Endpoint Protection

Hi all,

Our customer have just installed SEP 11 on all client.
Problem is that he can't manage client from SEP 11 manager console, because console is installed on a central server in Deutchland and we haven't access on it.

All client installation are fully configured from manager console and all option are locked.

My question is: it's possible to disable SEP11 temporary withouth manager console? If yes how i can do it?

I need it because HP Officejet software is not able to install network printer because was blocked from firewall instead of SEP11.

I already try to dysable all symantec service and windows security center, but problem is still present.

PS: client have Windows XP SP2

remove the firewall component by going to add /remove program and modify it to have only Antivirus component. and restart and try installing the HP software

smc_engine_status 0 – means turned OFF 1- turned ON.
 

Nothing...

I change registry value to 0 and i launch HP installation but i receive again error about Firewall installed on service SmcServic (Sygate Technologies).

Maybe i need to restart computer after registry value change?

Restart and try.What is the exact error you are getting? 

are you using Sygate firewall or symantec endpoint protection 11.0? 
try this document and disable the services of sysplant and sysgaurd, ( if you find the registry)

After restart problem is the same.

Rafeeq, i've installaed SEP11 only , it's a business contract all over europe for this customer and we can't install any other security software.

I don't know why problem described from HP is related to Sygate Firewall, but it's related to Service explained from Aravind (Smc_Service).

you can try this
start - run- ncap.cpl
uninstall teefer2 driver
install software
then do a repair of SEP, it will put back that driver.

 

How to uninstall end point from client complately, with firewall driver and without turn on windows firewall?
that to login or access that client remotly after uninstalled Endpoint.

Please use the autoruns tool from Sysinternals. That will help you yo delete un-necessary drivers and services from your machine.

you can disable SEP by going to :
start -> run -> smc -stop

However the user might be prompted to enter the password to disable the SEP services (if the policy is set to ask for a password).

If it doesnt work,
You may also try going to add/remove programs, find Symantec Endpoint protection and choose 'Change'.
Then choose modify, and disable 'Network Threat protection'. If I'm not mistaken, you must also disable 'Application and Device control' when disabling Network threat protection.

For both of these methods, you need to have admin privileges

how can you disable the uninstall password with SEP 11.0.4 on windows 7

Type
smc -stop
in your run box and provide password if asked. that will disable the sep. and after installing the software you can try smc -start ar simply restart the machine which will start the sep service again.
