How can I exclude type of files in specific directory?

  • 1.  How can I exclude type of files in specific directory?

    Posted Dec 07, 2008 02:47 AM

    Hi,

I read a Microsoft KB for virus scanning recommendations for Windows. I would like to change auto scan option and read this document (http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/0/21fc89c7b15173b3652573af0045996b?OpenDocument) for excluding files. I tried to exclude some type of files under specific directory (e.g. c:\windows\security\*.log). However, NAV 10.x seems need a file name for excluding setting. It is because I do not know any log file(s) will been generate in this folder, so I cannot specific the name for these type of file.

    Any Idea?

    Thanks

    Ray

    Hi,

I have also made many tests how to get it to work like that, but haven't found any way to use wildcards. I have written the exclusions straight in registry the way you wanted to do it (e.g. c:\temp\*.zip), but they don't seem to work. I'm afraid there is no way to do it.
